Come improve your English at the Church

Dear Friends,
I am so excited to invite you to come to these English activities at the church. I had so much fun with all of you at the English Camp! I can’t wait to see you again!

We will have two English Parties:
Thursday September 28, 13:30-17:30, High School students
Friday September 29, 13:30-16:30, for students grades 2nd-6th
We will watch a different American film in English each day, do Energizers and activities, and play games. We need volunteers for both days, and the students from 28.9 may help on 29.9. You don’t have to help for both days, but this is preferred. Adults learning English may come on 28.9 to enjoy the movie and help with activities, if they wish.

English classes will begin on 2nd October and cost 200 Ck a semester (half year).We will offer 6 classes for youth. Four of those classes will be more structured like the American English Camp with activities, drama, art, and music and called ZÁBAVNÁ ANGLIČTINA. The classes will be split by grades: 2nd-3rd, 4th-6th, 7th-9th, and High School. The other two classes will be more like an English Club, ANGLICKÝ KLUB. We will play games in English and watch clips from Movies in English. The students will have different activities to choose from and the classes will be offered for grades 7th-9th and High School.
We are excited to finally offer something for Adults, too! In these classes, we will expect you to have some knowledge (if you have no knowledge of English, Magda Jacubcova has been offering a class for beginning students). We will meet once a week for English Conversation for Adults.

Applications will be due Sept. 20.
You may pick up an application at the Information Center in Policka. We will arrange the classes according to the schedules of the pre-registered students. So the sooner you turn in your application, the more likely we will be to find a time that works for you. Movie Night
Twice a month we will show a movie in English and talk about it in English. One night will be a movie for Adults (anyone 18 and older) and the other night will be a movie for Families (to be enjoyed by children and adults).

I am learning more Czech everyday, but I will still need some assistance in these events. The volunteers will be responsible for coming 10-15 min. before the event or class to discuss the activities and then translating during the class, when necessary, to aid the students. Some classes may need more translation than others. This may be helpful for you if you wish to develop translation experience. If you would like to help, please indicate this on an application.
